Foiling Theft STOCKADE is a self-monitoring GPS security tracker which uses the GPS navigational system to determine its position and then communicates this information to up to five mobile phones using text messaging. The tracker has its own internal battery which will last up to eight days. It is supplied with two rechargeable batteries and a charger. All tracker kits include a voltage converter which can be connected to either a vehicle or leisure battery and can work on 6 volt, 12 volt or 24 volt systems. With just two wire to connect - positive and negative - there are no problems for positive or negative earth vehicles. The tracker is magnetic and can be easily positioned so that it can receive both GPS and mobile phone signals. The are no external aerials to complicate the wiring process and there is no constant monitoring transmission for a thief to intercept, or which requires an annual fee to be paid. Information from the tracker is sent only when required and you decide when this should be. The tracker has the ability to monitor its own position and warn you if it is moved. You can also set a virtual stockade, which can be anything from 200 metres to many miles wide, and the tracker will warn you if it is moved outside the stockade boundaries. You can telephone the tracker at any time to ask it where it is and it will ring twice, hang up and send you a text message with its co-ordinates. The only costs are text message charges from the provider of the SIM card which you buy and install in the tracker.Be aware that some mobile phone providers require a SIM card to be used at least once a month. How does the STOCKADE tracker foil theft?A thief doesn't know what type of tracker, if any, your vehicle may have fitted, and he knows that looking for a tracker might easily set it off and cause the police to investigate at any moment. So his least risky option is to move the vehicle as quickly as possible to some nearby out-of-the-way place such as a quiet side street or car park, and leave it for a couple of days. If it is still there after that time then it probably doesn't have a tracker so it's only a small risk to move the vehicle to a garage or workshop. This means you probably have up to 48 hours in which to get the police involved and your vehicle recovered without anything too damaging being done to it.
